(DeltalentFor any attacker, making proper lead runs and cuts is a way to get away from the defender and play behing his back, splitting his attention between the ball and the player who he should be marking. This simple drill is perfect to teach players how to do it correctly.

As you can see, players don’t run in a straight line, they rather move to one side and change direction and speed towards the other. The receiving of the ball is dynamic and on the move, which during a real game situation, will allow them to leave the opponent behind.
