Tactical analysis: Creating space by flicking the ball to our own backline

bannerfih

Take a look at this outstanding way of clearing the ball out of a crowded situation. The Netherlands was able to reach to a high position with the possession of the ball however the Belgian team was able to read the side of the attack. This turned out to be a situation where the space was small because the right side of the attack was overcrowded and the offensive action would have been not entirely clean.

With a flick to the back line, the Dutch team was able to transfer the side of the attack and find the space and time to open the opponent´s tight defense without risk.
