Let’s have a look on how to “cut the opponent off”: In order to outplay, or better to outrun your opponent, the most efficient technique is cutting off his running lane. This means that the player in ball possession, chased by a defender, must change direction while dribbling.
By using body and speed, it becomes impossible for the opponent to cut in front. The attacker protects the ball by placing his body between the ball and the defender. In this video you see three exercises to improve cutting off the opponent, executed by Xuen, Cherry, Huang and Dong.
