The Liberty University field hockey team belongs to the Liberty University, which is the largest private, nonprofit university in the United States and the largest university in Virginia. In addition, it is the largest Christian university in the world. The mission of this college is to create Christ-centered graduates with the values and concepts that are essential for impacting the future in a positive way.

It should not be a surprise that such values pushed the field hockey head coach, Jodi Murphy, to lead a group of hockey players and students to the East African nation of Uganda during the summer of 2014. This was a team composed of 9 members which spent two weeks participating in different projects such as building a school in a local village and, of course, playing field hockey.

The team participated in a field hockey camp in a nearby town where they taught the game built relationships with the children. In addition, during the season, the hockey team organizes camps and clinics that help raising funds to provide hockey material to different villages of Uganda. This video was produced by GameOn’s Mike O’Neal and it provides a look on what this amazing trip to Uganda was like.
