Longstreth, A Historical Hockey Store In USA

longstreth

Longstreth is a hockey store that has dominated the retail market in the United States for over 30 years. The store has been committed to supporting the development of female athletes across field hockey, lacrosse, and fastpitch softball, offering the best selection of equipment, uniforms, performance apparel, and footwear.

Longstreth has been working for young female athletes since 1977. Barbara Longstreth, a pioneer in the United States in playing and coaching field hockey and lacrosse at the national team level, started selling field hockey sticks out of the trunk of her car.  Barbara’s passion for women’s sports, and commitment to providing personal attention for young female athletes started Longstreth and remains the core of our culture and mission today. The “Longstreth Barn” is the headquarters of the company, which is located outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

In 1977 Barbara Longstreth met Mohinder Gill, a student from India. Barbara agreed to sell his hockey sticks when she traveled with her field hockey team. Thus, Longstreth Women’s Sports began with the sale of Mohinder’s hockey sticks from the trunk of her car. Longstreth’s success is attributable not only to quality products and excellent prices but also to Barbara’s passion for women’s sports and the personal attention given to players.

Nowaday, the store’s culture continues to pride on the idea that Longstreth is a company committed to the female athlete, founded and managed by players for players.
