Hockey Drills: Receiving and footwork

Hockey is a very complex sport with a lot of technical details. Our footwork around the ball when passing and receiving is a skill that requires coordination, speed and accuracy. Ryde Hockey Club High Performance Director Larry McIntosh runs some simple drills to develop footwork and control when receiving the ball. Larry emphasises how the ability to receive the ball on both the left and right foot is critical for the modern day defender. More can be found at coachingdirector.
