Germany build up the initial part of the play by passing the ball between the defenders on 11 occasions. Moving the ball like this, generated the space between the opponent´s line which allowed the ball to travel forward to an open attacker on the left side.

As the attacker receives the ball, he decides to bounce it back once more just to guarantee the ball possession and to keep the Argentine defenders moving and giving away empty spaces. In the end, Germany was able to bring the ball back to the same spot but without risk of generating a counterattack:
