A wrong umpire call? Self-goal from a pass from outside the circle

Sometimes is hard for umpires to follow the fast paced action of hockey, and without the help of video-ref, the job becomes even harder. This could easily be the case of what happened in this clip which happened during a game at the Belgian female league.

The team of KHC Dragons sent a long ball inside the opponent’s circle which got deflected by a defender and got inside her own goal. The umpire called a goal probably thinking that the attacker made the deflection, but if you watch the replay you will see a different story…
