1v2 + 2v2 under counterattack: A drill with the Hockeyroos

This drill was found at Craig Victory’s Instagram Account (Hockeyroos’ assistant coach). It consists in generating a proper pressure in the midfield in order to initiate a counterattack:

1) The drill starts with a reverse pass from the red player on the half-line to the her teammate avoiding the opponent’s interception (green). If the player of the green team intercepts the ball, she has the objective to cross the half-line with the ball under control while the red team must recover the ball by using two players (the passer and top receiver) generating a 1v2 situation.

2) If they recover the ball, they must attack towards the goal. The green team adds one active defender in order to generate a 2v2 situation.
