Scoring with the “upright backhand shot”

Scoring with the upright backhand shot can truly be amazing if executed properly, but it is a very hard technique to master. If you want to become a more resourceful player you need to master this technique. As you can see in this image, hitting on the reverse side with a vertical position of the stick can turn out very helpful in a crowded situation inside the circle. In this case, the Dutch player hits a bouncing ball with the flat face of the stick open:
