Top most titled NHL clubs in the history of the league

The NHL is one of the oldest and most respected hockey leagues, attracting the attention of a huge number of fans and fans around the world, and our country is no exception. Due to the popularity of this hockey league in our country and the presence of a rather large army of fans here, we decided to tell our readers about the most titled teams in the National Hockey League. So, meet the list of the most titled league clubs in the history of its existence. By the way, many casinos offer many options for betting on hockey. For example, CasinoChan.

1st place: Montreal Canadiens

The Montreal Canadiens are one of the oldest teams in the National Hockey League and the most decorated team in the NHL. Throughout its existence, the club took part in 34 Stanley Cup finals, and the Canadiens won their first honorary trophy in the 1915-1916 season. For almost a hundred years, this club has been one of the main contenders for the honorary cup, and its principled confrontations against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Quebec Nordiques and Boston Bruins are a real decoration of the league. At the moment, the club has lost its position and can no longer claim to be the leader of the NHL, and the team won the last cup in the 1992-1993 season.

2nd place: Detroit Red Wings

The Detroit Red Wings are considered the most titled and successful American club in the National Hockey League. The club was founded in 1926 and has been able to win 11 Stanley Cups throughout its entire career in the NHL, participating in the final matches as many as 24 times. This club is especially known to Russian fans due to the fact that in the late 90s the famous “Russian Five” played in it, and one of the team leaders was Pavel Datsyuk, who will quite possibly return to the team this year in order to beautifully end his own playing career.

3rd place: Toronto Maple Leafs

The second most authoritative and titled Canadian team playing in the National Hockey League, which is known for its fiercest confrontation with another Canadian club, the Montreal Canadiens. The team, founded in 1917 under the name Toronto Arenas, changed its name several times, and was able to win its first Stanley Cup in the first year of its existence. Unfortunately, in the modern NHL, the Maple Leaves have ceased to be leaders, and the team won its last cup in the 1966-1967 season.

4th place: Boston Bruins

“Boston Bruins” without exaggeration can be called a hockey club that was disastrously unlucky in the final matches of the Stanley Cup, because by participating in them 19 times this club was able to win only 6 honorary trophies. Founded in 1924, the team, in its first season in the NHL, firmly entered the number of outsiders, losing most of the matches in the regular season, and the club was able to win its first Stanley Cup in the second season, after serious work on the mistakes. The last Stanley Cup was won in the 2010-2011 season, although it is worth noting that the team this season has a high probability of becoming the owner of this honorary trophy again and increasing its own winning percentage in the final matches.

5th place: Chicago Blackhawks

The Black Hawks are another fairly old American hockey club that plays in the National Hockey League. Playing in the NHL since 1926, the Chicago Blackhawks were able to win six Stanley Cups, participating in the final series 13 times. The team was able to win its first Stanley Cup almost ten years after the start of playing in the National Hockey League in the 1933-1934 season. Unlike most long-livers of the National Hockey League, the club shows good results today. So, for example, in the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 seasons, the club won the Stanley Cup for two years in a row thanks to the created dynasty.

6th place: Edmonton Oilers

The Edmonton Oilers are another Canadian team playing in the National Hockey League. Despite being relatively young, the club was founded in 1972 and boasts five Stanley Cups. The Oilers were able to lift their first Stanley Cup over their heads in the 1983-1984 season. It is worth noting that in the 80s and 90s, Edmonton created a team that dominated the Hockey League and managed to win five Stanley Cups in ten years. Many experts attribute one of the important reasons for such success to the fact that at that time the North American hockey legend Wayne Gretzky played for the club.
