Fatima Moreira de Melo is a former Dutch hockey player and one of the best players in history. Her numbers say that she has 191 caps, where she scored 30 goals. Her international debut was on 21 October 1997 against Germany which ended in a 2-1 victory for The Netherlands.

In addition, she is an internationally recognized celebrity. She has presented TV programs for both local and national TV stations, she also has a career as a singer, a model and a professional poker player. In this photoshoot, she decided to share the camera with a giant snake!

Fatima Moreira de Melo, while playing for the Dutch team, was able to become World Champion in 2006. In addition to this accomplishment she won the gold medal at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China after defeating the local team by 2 goals.

Outside the hockey field, Fatima Moreira de Melo studied law, in addition she became a TV host, a singer and a model. She was the voice behind the theme song of the International Hockey Federation’s 2001 Men’s World Cup Qualifier in Edingburgh.

Most recently, Fatima Moreira de Melo became a professional poker player for the Team PokerStars.

In addition to these Olympic and World Cup medals, Fatima Moreira de Melo was able to win 4 Champions Trophy: 2000 in Amsterlveen, 2004 Rosario, 2005 Canberra and 2007 Quilmes. In 2002 and 1998 she won the silver medal at the World Cup. At club level she played for HGC and HC Rotterdam for many years.
