Tactical Analysis: Using aerial passing skills in order to break defensive lines

This is one fantastic attack by KHC Drangons during the EHL Easter Weekend 2016. Take a look at how they are able to use aerial passes in order to beat the defensive lines of Athletic Terrassa.

Take a look at the play:

The ball starts from behind the half line and with a flick pass down the line, they are able to cross the half line.

pass1
The first aerial pass left 6 opponents behind the ball.

After that pass is under control, the midfielder is able to see that on the other side of the field, there is a teammate running forward. He decides to cross the field from left to right with a perfectly timed flick that allows his teammate to get a shot at goal. Unfortunately, the shot went wide but the build-up of the play was fantastic.

pass2
The second flick was a perfect pass to an offensive space.
