When hockey gets rough: yellow card after tensions rose high at the 2017 WL Final!

It took Netherlands only a window of 10 minutes in order to seal the deal and take home the 2017 World League after defeating the New Zealand Black Sticks. The host of the tournament lost control for a brief period and allowed the Dutch team to score three times in the minutes 24, 25 and 32.

The goals were scored by Jonker, Verschoor and Leurink. During the first moments of the game, most precisely in the minute 4, Dirkse received a yellow card for this violent player which ended with a Black Stick player on the ground.

She was probably lucky not to get a red card for this rough play…
