Guido Barreiros: How to improve and learn new technical skills?

Guido Barreiros is one of the most technical players in the world. He currently plays in the Bundesliga for Mannheimer and was one of the best attackers of the Argentine national team. Here you can read his best suggestions on how to learn or improve a technical skill. You should Like him on facebook for all his videos and news!

1. How can a player improve his personal technical skills?
The only way to improve and have a positive evolution, both physically and technically, is through training and practicing however, it is vital to have a good balance between quantity and quality. The personal and individual training sessions can make a big difference in the development of a player and investing 30 to 40 minutes per day, we can achieve very positive results.

2. How can a player learn and practice and new skill?
Each technical skill has small secrets that will adapt to your own personal style. Personally, what works for me, is to always train a skill on a different situation, scenario or movement, just training outside the comfort zone challenging myself.

3. How can a player do to transfer a new skill from the training session to a real game situation?
The most important thing of training a skill is to be able to do it during a hockey match. The training of a skill has per objective to get us used to it so, if we take it step by step, the training progression should be: training against cones, semi-active defenders and finally, real defenders.
